These terms apply to the spaceback app for Android, made by David Rodrigues. They are effective as of 2026-10-05. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's standard licence agreement applies instead.
spaceback compresses videos stored on your device so they take less space. A compressed video is always shown to you next to its original first. An original is replaced only when you choose "Replace original" for it and agree when Android asks to move it to the trash.
You may install and use the app on the devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell the app, or copy or modify it beyond what the law allows.
Compressing and comparing videos is free. Replacing an original with its compressed version requires the lifetime unlock, a one-time purchase made through Google Play, with no subscription. It is tied to your Google account and can be restored from the app's Settings. Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under its own terms.
Replacing an original moves it to your device's trash, which Android empties by itself after 30 days, and compression reduces quality to some degree. Review the comparison before you confirm, and keep a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose. Only compress videos you have the right to modify.
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, it comes without warranties of any kind, and the developer is not liable for lost data or other indirect damage arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.
If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
